About

Dashboard Confessional is a fabulous band created by the kick ass, Chris Carrabba. In 1999, Chris was playing with another band, called Further Seems Forever. Chris decided he'd rather be out on his own than play with a band, and went out to do his own thing. The result was an album, released in 2000 called Swiss Army Romance. Chris played clubs, usually by himself for quite a few years. He was known for his beautiful acoustic sound, and some of the best songwriting in ages. Chris threw himself into every single performance; all of his songs were sad and emotional, and Chris embraced this on the stage. He also encouraged fans to sing along with him during his concerts; something that hasn't changed a bit. By 2003, Dashboard Confessional was no longer a solo venture, and Chris now had a full band. The lineup of the band has changed a little bit (though Mike Marsh has played drums for Chris for like...ever.). The band currently consists of Chris Carrabba, Mike Marsh, John Lefler and Scott Shoenbeck.

People tend to associate Chris Carrabba and Dashboard Confessional with the "emo" genre of music. Which is pretty lame, but oh well. I first heard of Dashboard over the summer of 2001. I of course, immediatly fell in love with the music; it was painful and perfectly reflected my tormented high school self. Now that I'm a little bit older, I love their music even more. I've had the chance to see Dashboard live three times; in 2003, 2004 and 2007. They're really wonderful to see live, and I can honestly say that each show was completely different and amazing.

What's a fanlisting? A fanlisting is a website where fans of a particular subject come together and get their names listed. That's basically it. They're fun, and highly addicting. All the fanlistings are connected at one giant network site, Thefanlistings.org
